Virtual Early Career Ocean Professional (V.ECOP) Day 2025
The Virtual Early Career Ocean Professional (V.ECOP) Days are a unique livestream event series showcasing testimonials of change in applying science and knowledge to ocean sustainability from the global community of ECOPs. It is hosted by and for early career ocean professionals as a contribution to the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
V.ECOP Days 2025 will connect ECOPs from around the world under the motto “ECOPs shaping the Ocean’s future” to share and make their contributions to achieving SDG 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. Organized in a hybrid format the global ECOP community will be linked with the third International UN Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) in Nice, France. The program will start with a welcome onboard the German research vessel Meteor in the port of Nice on Monday, June 9th at 9 am CEST and will run for two days. The program will be enriched by live reportings from our mobile journalists in Nice.
Oceanic Impact Founder, Lisa Chen, will be sharing her experience leveraging grassroots moving to address marine debris during the Ocean Action Panel 4: Preventing and significantly reducing marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, which is scheduled for 10:30 am – 12 pm EDT.
